Solid wood floor
The oldest way in which wooden parts were used as floors. Still a wise choice in terms of the durability of a wooden floor.
Gluing
In order to properly install a solid wooden floor, it is preferable to glue and nail the parts to a wooden subfloor that has been installed for this purpose, because of the tendency of the wood to act.
Semi-floating and fully floating
In addition, there are two other options for laying this floor: semi-floating by nailing the planks to a framework of wooden battens in combination with sound insulation, and in some cases a solid wooden floor can also be installed completely floating. But glueing and nailing remains the best method. The planks are hard, rigid and inflexible you might say, but on the other hand it also reacts vigorously to moisture or dehydration.
